Take a Bite Out of Summer holidays at Hilton Lake Como, Italy
The summer holidays are already in full swing at Hilton Lake Como since re-opening the new generational hotel with spectacular scenery in April. The former silk factory is now home to Terrazza 241, the hotel’s buzzing rooftop bar and restaurant, which is busier than ever thanks to the following new additions:
A colourful new lounge for summer
Hilton Lake Como is delighted to introduce the new Pink Summer Lounge, a space dedicated for aperitifs and after dinner moments available for guests and locals alike at Terrazza 241 from Tuesday to Sunday. The new Pink Summer Lounge has been designed to meet the high summer demand for an informal yet festive dining environment. The hotel's sundeck offering jaw-dropping views of Italy’s iconic lake is transformed into an explosion of colours and furnishings in the evening, with comfortable seating in shades of peach pink, ultramarine blue and cornflower blue.
The furniture, signed by Nodo Italia, has been designed by Leolori exclusively for the most famous rooftops in Como. The furnishings shape and size make it easy for guests to socialise and relax whilst admiring the view or sipping a refreshing cocktail by the Bar Manager Vincenzo Sulmona. This summer, the signature cocktails of Terrazza 241 Smoked Negroni and The Sphere will be joined by pinky proposals, such as the Pinky Colada with the addition of beetroot juice and the Queen Elizabeth: the heady fragrance of Pink Gin and the lightness of lavender which are elegantly interwoven with the sweetness of the perfumes and vivacity of bubbles of the highest sophistication.
New menus at Terrazza 241
Terrazza 241 further strengthens its presence as a restaurant for lunch and dinner, now offering a selection of delicate and light cuisine, perfect for summer that winks at Italian classic cuisine reinterpreted in a modern way. The rooftop restaurant will be offering new dishes such as Il giorno e la notte (Day and Night), where the pastry meets the black of the cuttlefish and gold. A surprising dish thanks to the buttered scallops strategically placed between two layers of tasty homemade pasta. The new menus are created with strict respect for seasonality and raw materials- an undeniable source of inspiration is the lake and its surroundings, the subject of many excursions by the Executive Chef Ramella. In his Pasta Roll, the chef has chosen a bed of lake botanicals: his homage to the Lario. Tasty international dishes are readily available to make each guest feel at home. Must try dishes are Il mare in un fritto: a fried fish flavoured with gin lemon sauce or the much-loved Grilled Octopus, both crispy and tender.
Street food for the entire family
Available from 1st July 2021, Hilton Lake Como will be offering a new pop-up street food bar concept that has been created within the terraces of the ground floor and will become an alternative dining option to Terrazza 241 for both hotel guests and locals. Characterized by an informal atmosphere, the new street food bar will not only be an ideal destination for families, but also for those who want to follow the various sporting events throughout summer.
A quirky red and white coloured portable pizza oven especially created on a Vespa will be positioned at the entrance of the hotel thanks to the collaboration with L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele, the renowned and historic Neapolitan pizzeria that proudly uses traditional and natural ingredients. Nominated in the Michelin and Espresso Guides, it has recently been awarded as the best artisanal pizza chain in the world. The classic round pizza, tasty and inviting, which satisfies both the eye and the palate, will be offered in different regional variations in the name of simplicity and genuine taste: a real culinary journey through the Bel Paese. A selection of gourmet burgers and trendy poke bowls will also be on offer to those who love a tasty but light cuisine. There’s now truly something for every palette at the Hilton Lake Como!
"We have noticed a strong recovery since the last easing of restrictions. Hotel guests, as well as external customers, are asking for innovative and efficient services, cutting-edge culinary proposals, a vibrant atmosphere able to restore serenity and joy. These have always been the ingredients of our rooftop terrace and restaurant, Terrazza 241. We continue to offer live music entertainment every evening, a barbecue show cooking station, new cocktails to satisfy all tastes and a fresh new menu by the Executive Chef Alessandro Ramella," comments Alessio Colavecchio, General Manager of Hilton Lake Como.
Nightly rates at Hilton Lake Como begin at 180 Euro per night based on double occupancy with breakfast included.
