The comfortable and spacious family connecting rooms, family suites and the recently refurbished Executive Molino Suites, are a fabulous fit for families staying at the property. Children’s menus inspired by Italian cuisine are available at the hotel’s restaurants and upon arrival children can receive kids-friendly bathroom amenities to make a splash at bath time, super soft children’s bed linens, a cuddly toy, a colouring book and some fun dress up items for mini pirates and princesses in the making. Family travellers will return home with many special memories and a new understanding of the culture, traditions and extraordinary sights that make Venice such an enchanting city to visit. Autumn activities at Hilton Molino Stucky Venice include:
Venier Glass-Making Workshop
Hilton Molino Stucky Venice can arrange for families with children aged ten and up to visit the Venier factory for a glass-making workshop. Here, guests can better understand the centuries-old intricacies and complex art behind creating the delicate Murano glass, which has its roots in the 8th century.
After arriving on Murano Island by water-taxi, young travellers will be mesmerised as they tour the 3,000 square meter show room, which includes an entire section dedicated to glass animals and fish. After watching the artisans meticulously demonstrate their skills creating boldly-coloured sculptures from red-hot melted glass, there will be a chance for both children and parents to try their hand at the craft under the expert supervision of the master glassmakers themselves. Parents can purchase a high-quality Murano glass creation as a special memento of their tour, while all children will receive a certificate of participation from the glass school with which to impress their friends back home.
Learn a Trick, Eat a Treat!
Budding bakers inspired by the latest series of Bake Off will have the chance to hone their skills with Hilton Molino Stucky Venice pastry chef Giovanni Petrillo. Over the coming months, Chef Petrillo will provide a traditional Bussola cookie-making masterclass, with a Halloween twist. Chef Petrillo’s take on the Venetian butter cookies is simple and not too sweet with a light chestnut flavour and crisp texture – perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Little ones will discover how to make the perfect chestnut-infused dough and the spooky S-shape of these buttery cookies so they can recreate these tasty treats back at home. Once the cookies have been baked to perfection, Chef Petrillo will demonstrate a variety of ghoulish decorating techniques before students can tuck into their creations - if they dare!
Biennale di Architettura
2021 sees the 17th International Biennale di Architettura take place in Venice, which runs until 21st November and is centred around the theme of ‘How Will We Live Together’. With a wide range of exhibitions, including many specially designed for children, Hilton Molino Stucky Venice can suggest thrilling educational excursions for all the family.
Interactive family-friendly guided tours see guides choose the best artworks for children, involving them as they explain each installation. Highlights include Skull Studio + Moloarchitekti’s ‘Off Fence’ installation, a deconstructed children’s playground and obstacle course, and HHF Architects’ ‘The Playful Eight’, a wooden tunnel structure which aims to reclaim the subject of children’s playgrounds for architects.
Nightly rates at Hilton Molino Stucky Venice begin at 340 Euros per night for a King Family Suite with Living Room with breakfast included. For more information or to book visit https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/vcehihi-hilton-molino-stucky-venice/
