Greece is revealed to be the top European destination for sailing holidays

Greece has been named as the best country to book a sailing holiday in Europe, by the team at Uswitch. The findings come as part of the new Adventure Index Campaign, which has researched the best European countries to visit for action-packed travel and holidays.

The campaign launch follows news that UK travel restrictions are being eased by the government.

Owing largely to the almost 8,500 miles of coastline, and impressive inland lakes like Lake Trichonida, Greece has proved to be a hot-spot for sailing in Europe.

And as part of their European Adventure Index, the broadband team at Uswitch has crunched the numbers to to find that Greece is home to 29 locations for travelers and locals alike to book sailing adventures.

In fact, Greece was shown to be the home of adventure sailing in Europe by some distance, with almost two-fifths (37%) of all the bookable locations on the index falling on the Greek mainland.

The next closest country was Norway with 12 locations (15%). Italy (10), Croatia (6), and Malta (5) make up the top five.
