Up to 95% of hotels already booked for the Easter holidays
Hotels reaching capacity for Easter holiday travel
Research by hotel booking platform, hoo, has revealed that those planning an Easter break may want to act sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment, as hotel availability is already reaching maximum capacity.
hoo analysed hotel availability for the Easter break across eight popular destinations for both domestic and foreign European breaks from London to Edinburgh, Dublin to Amsterdam.
The research shows that those with plans of an Easter trip away may want to act now, as some destinations have already seen as much as 95% of available hotels already booked.
Dublin currently provides your best chance of finding Easter hotel accommodation, although even then, 79% of all hotels are already booked out.
Amsterdam also has some of the highest availability with 82% of all hotels already booked, with London not far behind with 85% of all hotels already full.
However, for those looking to head away to the likes of Madrid, Paris, Rome, Edinburgh or Lisbon, the task may be that little bit harder. Between 91% and 95% of all hotels in these cities have already been booked up for the Easter break, with Lisbon the most in demand (95%).
hoo Co-founder, Adrian Murdock, commented:
“This Easter is going to be the first holiday period in a long time that we will be able to travel with a greater sense of normality and so it’s likely to be an extremely busy one, both home and abroad.
While this is great news, it does mean that you may struggle to find accommodation if you haven’t already done so. Although it may feel like you have a little bit of time left, it’s better to act now to avoid disappointment.
With this heightened level of demand, there’s also a high chance that the cost of these hotels will have started to increase and so the longer you leave it, the more you’re likely to pay.”
