CHAS kids hop on board egg-celent Easter Holiday flight

This Easter Holiday, Loganair has gifted Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) a scenic air travel tour around Scotland’s highlands and islands, with a very special seasonal Loganair employee, the Easter Bunny.

Children and their families who are cared for by CHAS had a unique opportunity to tour Scotland’s islands by air, in a generous donation from Loganair. The flight departed from Glasgow Airport, where the children were surprised by Loganair’s Easter Bunny who presented gift baskets of chocolate eggs and other goodies to all attendees.

CHAS is a palliative care charity who strive to reach and support children and their families across Scotland who are living with life-shortening conditions, offering much-needed respite and continual care. It is CHAS’s mission to ensure that no one faces the death of their child alone, and that no family feels forgotten.

Loganair is the UK’s largest regional airline, and has been in partnership with CHAS since 2021. With flight routes reaching across the UK, Loganair is committed to providing several free flights to CHAS children and support staff, allowing stress-free travel to help the charity do their admirable work.

Witnessing the impact the charity continually makes to families across Scotland is remarkable and we hope the children and their families enjoyed their early Easter experience from all of us at Loganair.”

Nicky Bridges, Associate Director for Outreach Services at CHAS, said: “Thanks so much to Loganair for giving these children such a special experience. Knowing your child is going to die young is the hardest thing, and the last few years have made things even harder. For some families, this is the first really fun thing they have been able to do for a long time and I’m sure they will cherish the memories forever (and welcome the Easter Bunny with open arms!).”

Mum Megan Edgar who was travelling with her two children Oscar and Theo and her sister Caitlin added: “It’s a dream come true, I can’t believe we are getting to go on a plane, which we’ve never been able to do before.”
