Shangri-La Rasa Ria’s trailblazing women
General Manager – Fiona Hagan
With 27 years of hospitality experience, Fiona joined the Shangri-La Rasa Ria team five years ago as General Manager. She has worked at hotels across Asia and has solid experience working in sales and marketing in addition to hotel management. Fiona is passionate about developing opportunities for people and is of the firm belief that its people that support and implement successful business strategies in order to achieve success.
Resident Naturalist – Sharon Jamain
Having grown up in the local area, working in tourism and hospitality was in Sharon’s DNA. As one of the Resident Naturalist’s, Sharon works at Shangri-La Rasa Ria’s nature reserve, the Rasa Ria Reserve, educating guests on the native wildlife and plants that call the jungle home. She has worked at the hotel since 2017 and is particularly knowledgeable on reptiles and insects. Sharon’s advice for women in the workplace is: Never stop learning and exploring. Be brave, kind and be the woman you are. But the most important one is to take care of your mental health.
Chef Felicia Sibir
Felicia joined the Shangri-La Rasa Ria team in 2000 as a trainee on the Hospitality Engagement Training Programme. Growing through the ranks, Chef Felicia is now a talented Sous Chef at the hotel. Having spent most of her career working alongside men, Chef Felicia is a champion of female chefs and encourages young women to pursue a career in the industry.
