It's not always easy to bring back gifts and souvenirs from your travels, between the tourist traps and the things you can do without because they're likely to end up in boxes or in the dust after a few months. However, some new trends exist in a less consumerist manner: they tend to offer many memories, without any disadvantage. That’s a major contrast with other things aforementioned and a perfect excuse to build a non-exhaustive list of things to bring back from your holidays. Let’s jump it before your next trip abroad!

Magnets

That’s indeed a classic item that could easily fit in the box of “unnecessary objects” mentioned in the introduction. However, magnets have always had their utility! On the fridge, on a whiteboard or anywhere where it’s compatible, a magnet stays cheap but really helpful.

Gifted as a small attention, a magnet is also a perfect and tiny gift for someone of your inner circle between family and friends. It’s also a great way to see one piece of sun from time to time!

Your best photograph

It’s now been decades that people cheer for photography. These past years, the main activity has become relentless and everyone is in ability to buy or use great cameras, sometimes considered as bargains on retail! Let’s also mention the fact that mobile phones such as iPhone or other models offer fantastic resolutions, and you get the possibility to immortalise perfect moments while in vacation.

The journey has to include many photographs and thanks to this, memories always come into play. That’s why you could create your own canvas wall art as a perfect souvenir from your time off. You can hang it on the wall or display it in your office. In this way, this memory will always bring back moments of joy whenever you feel the need!

Mugs

Based on the same logics as magnets, mugs are really helpful and if you’re one of many coffee or tea lovers, there’s no reason to consider those as a bad gift. Of course, you don't want to buy a mug that's too touristy and of poor quality, which will never look good in the kitchen or living room. You can, however, start a collection with a certain brand or style anytime you visit a place. There's a souvenir for every city, and always a delicious drink to enjoy at home!

Local food

Forget the stinky, runny cheese from France. It might offer pleasure on site but it won’t once back home if this packaging is not vacuum-packed. Nevertheless, there’s still a way to enjoy gift or souvenir if you or one of your friends is an epicurean. Coming from another country or culture, there’s always things to bring back if you a gastronomy lover. Culinary specialities allows a new journey, without moving from your own place!
