This October, slow down and unwind during a nature-filled Italian travel getaway at Oasyhotel in Tuscany. Located in San Marcello Piteglio’s wild WWF affiliated Oasi Dynamo nature reserve, Oasyhotel opened in April 2022 as a pioneering nature-immersive wilderness holiday retreat.
Open until the end of October, Oasyhotel is an ideal autumnal forest holiday getaway, with its expansive and privately-owned forest turning beautiful shades of orange and reds, as well as welcoming Tuscan climates to enjoy outdoor pursuits out of the summer heat. Key autumnal highlights include:
- Hiking and electric-biking trails to explore the vast nature reserve amongst the colourful forest leaves
- Forest foraging with Oasyhotel’s Head Chef. Autumnal findings can include chestnuts, porcini, chanterelle and parasol mushrooms. Flowers and aromatic plants include scotch broom, eagle fern, hawthorn, Italian strawflower, and common juniper.
- Guided nature walks through the seasonal forest to spot the huge range of biodiversity in addition to incredible wildlife. September and October are ideal months to sight wolves, wild boar and porcupine with their babies.
- A visit to Oasyhotel’s farm, with a cheesemaking and tasting class, potato farming and vegetable gardening
- Horse-riding through the nature reserve
- Dining on the local Tuscan seasonal produce, the majority of which is grown on the Oasi Dynamo farm, at Oasyhotel’s two traditional restaurants
- Kayaking and paddle-boarding on the private lake

- Evening campfires with local storytelling and “into the dark” night-time nature walks
Home to 16 eco-lodges, guests can get cosy with blankets, candles, and a tailormade evening picnic of cheeses, meats, fruit and red wine while on their own private veranda with panoramic views across the reserve.
