The much-loved Mediterranean travel icon hosts exclusive exhibitions and retail residencies from CHANEL, Orlebar Brown and Stuart Cantor this summer holidays
This summer, iconic beachfront resort the Marbella Club will delight guests and locals alike with a series of summer holiday pop ups, marking the next chapter of its newly launched Clubhouse. From July to October, the Clubhouse will play host to an array of pop-up exhibitions and fashion residencies, including boutiques from CHANEL and Orlebar Brown, and a showcase by renowned photographer Stuart Cantor – the first time any of his full collections have been exhibited.
CHANEL | July - October
For those with a fondness for high fashion, legendary French maison CHANEL will open its very first ephemeral boutique in Spain in one of the Marbella Club’s Andalusian-village style retail spaces. The boutique design recalls a private seaside villa — as fits the paradisal setting and laid-back, intrinsically Andalusian mood of the hotel. Flooded with natural light and imbued with a calm and convivial environment, touches of earthy materials and lush vegetation create an easy flow between the outside and inside. Salon-like spaces furnished with comfortable sofas and armchairs encourage guests to linger and peruse the latest Ready-to-Wear collections, shoes and accessories.
From now until October, guests can discover the CHANEL COCO BEACH 2021 collection – exclusively available in a selection of CHANEL boutiques worldwide, followed by a Ready-to-Wear salon, where the joyfully vibrant Spring-Summer 2021 Ready-to-Wear collection is displayed alongside the 2020/21 Métiers d'art "Le Château des Dames" collection. The boutique is also home to a selection of bags and accessories on display along with the iconic J12 Watch and COCO CRUSH Fine Jewellery collections, the fragrance collection LES EAUX, as well as the emblematic CHANEL N°5 perfume, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
Orlebar Brown | July – September
Taking up residency at the Marbella Club’s central patio - the site of some of the hotel’s very first motel-style guest rooms – is a showcase of the Marbella Club Days swim short, created in collaboration with British men’s resort wear brand Orlebar Brown and photographer Stuart Cantor. A mid-length short in Orlebar Brown’s signature Bulldog style, the shorts are adorned with a rose-tinted shot from Cantor’s Marbella Club Days series, depicting some of the Marbella Club’s most long-standing guests and original general manager, Count Rudi, at the hotel’s most exclusive private home, Villa del Mar. From this summer, even the littlest guests can look as stylish as their parents, with the shorts also available to purchase in children’s sizes exclusively at the hotel.
The Orlebar Brown Marbella Club Days short retails from €295 for adult sizes and €240 for children’s sizes.
Stuart Cantor exhibition | July – September
Alongside the shorts is a pop-up exhibition from Stuart Cantor, renowned for his vintage style and character-filled images of some of the world’s most iconic beachfront locations and party playgrounds. From July to September, the hotel is showcasing Cantor’s Marbella Club Days series: a collection of 18 timeless photographs that capture the magic of the Mediterranean and perfectly portray the Marbella Club’s inimitable lively spirit, which continues to enamour the now grown-up children and grandchildren of those who first visited this playful paradise in the 50s and 60s. With a timeless style eminent of trusted celebrity photographer Slim Aarons – who sensitively chronicled life at the Marbella Club from its earliest days – Cantor’s collection seamlessly captures the evolution of the Marbella Club: one that honours its beginnings rooted in old-world charm and laid-back glamour, whilst embracing a contemporary Andalusian spirit to ensure history and innovation blend harmoniously.
The launch of the summer pop ups is the latest addition to the ever-evolving Clubhouse, a lively social space for all seasons and the beating heart of the Marbella Club: offering everything from al fresco feasting at newly-unveiled El Patio, tempting night-time tipples at Rudi’s Bar and decadent wine tastings at La Bodega; to private parties, indulgent pampering at the hair spa and beauty salon, and an array of boutique shops and proposition stores packed full of unique treasures.
