Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain launches NEW sightseeing and spa holiday package

Brimming with artistic and culinary history, the Parisian neighbourhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés is a treat for the senses on the city’s coveted Left Bank. Deeply inspired by its surroundings, new boutique hotel Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain is launching a new overnight package combining an insightful walking tour with a rejuvenating wellness experience at its subterranean spa.

The discovery begins at Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain, where guests are greeted by a local guide with expert knowledge of Paris’ oldest quarter. Wandering through the neighbourhood’s 17th century arcades and narrow streets, guests will be transported back in time through vivid descriptions of the local history, which goes back as far as the year 543 when the Église de Saint-Germain-des-Pres – the oldest church in Paris – was unveiled. Moving through the eras, the guide will share stories of the area’s iconic cafés, which played host to artistic and literary greats of the twentieth century including Simone De Beauvoir and Pablo Picasso. There is plenty of opportunity to explore through the taste buds, with regular stops at some of the city’s finest eateries to sample freshly baked bread and pastries, cheese, and charcuterie.

After uncovering the secrets of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, guests are escorted back to the hotel where they’ll descend the stone staircase classified as a historic monument to enter Spa des Prés. The vaulted cellar housing the spa has a storied history of its own, once housing a legendary cabaret where poet and composer Léo Ferré began his career, and now features state-of-the-art facilities such as an indoor pool with massage jets, hammam, meditation room and fitness studio. In partnership with CODAGE Paris, the city’s premier wellness brand, the spa offers a menu of personalised and effective treatments to relax, stimulate and detoxify the body – an ideal solution to ease aching muscles after a day spent wandering the fascinating streets.

Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain is the neighbourhood’s latest boutique hotel opening, featuring 47 individually appointed bedrooms across three traditional buildings. The property is home to Les Parisiens, the contemporary French restaurant by chef Thibault Sombardier, where dishes expertly combine haute cuisine with a less inhibited style of cooking. Adjacent, James Joyce Bar serves a menu of delicious cocktails inspired by the local area, such as Suspended Garden, a nod to the Pont des Arts, which was originally conceived as a hanging garden bridge.

The Explore and Exhale package costs from €485 per person (approx. £420; two sharing), including one night’s accommodation, two-hour guided walking tour of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one-hour spa treatment per person and breakfast. Visit en.pavillon-faubourg-saint-germain.com
