Toureasy carbon neutral holidays travel

New holiday company helps South West holiday-makers cut emissions

South West holiday-makers will be doing their bit for the environment when booking their travel through the UK’s first carbon neutral coach holiday company, operating out of the region from November.

Launching today, Toureasy automatically offsets 100% of the carbon emissions of all their affordable short coach breaks, including transport, hotels and excursions. Toureasy is the first and only coach tour operator in the UK to take this approach.

The operator chose the South West to launch their inaugural tour programme. Departure points across the region include, but not limited to, Bath, Bridgewater, Bristol, Cheltenham, Chippenham, Clevedon, Exeter, Gloucester, Newton Abbot, Taunton, Torquay, Weston-Super-Mare and Worcester..

Toureasy’s mission is to open up sustainable travel to people of the South West through a flexible, low-cost business model, meaning its holidays are not at a premium price to other coach holiday operators – with the added benefit that holidaymakers can travel sustainably at an affordable price.

Going by coach is considerably more environmentally-friendly than other forms of transport and encouraging Brits to use it as a form of transport could help the UK meet its climate and air quality targets.

Cars generate about six times more average carbon emissions per passenger each journey compared to coach travellers, according to the Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT). Just a 15% rise in coach travel would mean 47 million fewer cars on our roads reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over a quarter of a million tonnes, it estimated.

Travellers will get a certificate after each trip confirming the carbon offset made on their behalf and the positive impact, they have made in combating the global climate crisis.

Founder of Toureasy Sean Taggart said:

“We realised that far too often sustainable travel options are linked to luxury holidays, with a price tag to match. Our ambition is to offer affordable holidays where everyone that travels with us automatically makes a positive contribution to protecting our planet. Our holidays make that possible.”

Toureasy is launching with a range of festive UK short breaks and holidays to destinations including Bath, Devon, Kent, Liverpool, Manchester, the Isle of Wight and the Scottish Trossachs.

The company will operate direct coach routes to and from its holiday destinations and packages will always include transport, accommodation and breakfast – with the majority also including evening meals, excursions and entertainment.

Toureasy is certified Carbon Neutral and is externally audited to ensure its emissions calculations are accurate.
