Renowned for its natural scenery, historical and cultural heritage, LUX* Tea Horse Road Dali, nestled between the majestic Cang Mountains, peaking over 4,000 metres above sea level, and one of China’s largest freshwater lakes, Erhai, is now open.

The seventh hotel in the LUX* Tea Horse Road China collection along the millennium-old trade route that connects southern China with eastern Tibet, the newly-built LUX* Tea Horse Road Dali’s interiors pays homage to the unique Bai’s ethnic minority design aesthetics and is conceptualised by award-winning interior design company, Kulor Group.

Accommodation

The 158-room hotel offers seven different room categories for travellers looking for a romantic escapade, family weekend getaway or solo journey to recharge.  Guestrooms range between 38 and 137 square metres, overlooking the hotel’s lush foliage, Erhai Lake or the Cang Mountains. The full-length windows in each guestroom allow the beauty of nature into the room whilst the natural wood furnishings immediately give a sense of tranquility and calm.

Restaurants and Lounges

The beating heart of the hotel is the Bai’s Kitchen, serving traditional Yunnan cuisine and global favourites. Executive Chef Stone Xie impresses with his take on regional Chinese dishes prepared with local produce, alongside varied choices of pressed juices, fruits and healthy bites on offer throughout the day. Coffee aficionados can find their caffeine fix with a cup or two of home roast, premium blend at LUX* Resorts & Hotels’ branded Café LUX* with freshly baked French and Italian desserts and pastries. After a day of sightseeing and hiking, head to the Junxiu Tea Lounge focused on serving the perennial favourite Pu’er tea, some as aged as 10 years, paired with local delicacies before heading to The View Bar, the best spot in the city to watch the sunset, whilst sipping on crafted cocktails, distilled whiskeys and curated list of international wines.

Guests can explore the 1,800 year Three Pagodas and the vibrant Ancient Town dating from the Ming Dynasty in the 12th century on foot, all within 15 minutes’ walk from the hotel.
