Ranked: The top travel-friendly cities for anyone with a disability
A new report by Essential Living has ranked the most (and least) accessible cities across the globe to travel to
Looking at 38 major cities around the world, Essential Living’s ‘Taxi Rank’ report found which are the best and easiest cities to travel by Uber, and which were the worst.
Ranked by average cost, convenience, vehicle options and availability, here are the world's top 10 accessible cities for travel:
- Washington
- New Delhi
- Cairo
- Madrid
- Prague
- Santiago
- Lisbon
- Vienna
- Zagreb
- Los Angeles
The report found Washington, New Delhi and Cairo to be amongst the best cities to travel by Uber, making these the top 3 travel-friendly cities to visit for anyone with a disability.
Rome, Auckland, Rio De Janeiro, Athens and Antwerp were amongst the least accessible.
The study also reveals how quickly you can get an Uber to come and collect you from the main tourist attractions in 38 different cities around the world.
An incredible five cities, including Vienna, Toronto, Sydney, Abuja and New Delhi, all take only 3 minutes for an Uber to turn up to the major tourist attraction in each of these cities.
Rio de Janeiro in Brazil came out bottom of the list, with taxis taking an excruciating waiting time of 43 minutes.
