Searches Rise To 80% For Cancelled Flights and travel: Four Tips To Avoid Holiday Cancellations
Over the last few days, thousands of hopeful travellers in the UK have faced disappointment with their travel plans being disrupted due to flights cancellations and delays. Recent searches have shown an 80% increase for 'Ryanair cancel flight', an 80% increase for ‘jet2 flight cancellation' and a 70% increase in searches for 'emirates flight cancellation', with those stuck searching for quick alternatives.
Although sometimes cancellations around this time of year can be inevitable, adventure holiday provider The Bucketlst Company have provided some top tips on avoiding disruptions.
Tips To Avoid Travel Cancellations
1. Fly / Travel As Early As Possible
Try to get the day's first flight or as close as possible. Most early morning flights typically take off on time as these flights are not coming directly from another location. Additionally, the first flight means no bags must be taken off, meaning less chance of delay.
2. Avoid Peak Travel Times:
This can be difficult for families, but, if possible, it is always best to not book around the school holidays. Although there may be more flights running, the additional number of people can strain the airport, leading to flights being cancelled.
3. Book a Direct Flight
Although connecting flights can be cheaper, the chances of delays or completely missing your flight can be significantly higher.
4. Avoid Traveling In Bad Weather Seasons
According to the National Airspace System, lousy weather accounts for 70% of delays. Although, predicting what the weather will be like far in advance is pretty impossible, avoid travelling in particularly stormy or snowy months if possible.
