MARCH
ISSA Boys and Girls Champs
From 28th March - 1st April, the Inter-Secondary School Sports Association (ISSA) Boys and Girls Athletics Championships takes place at the National Stadium in Kingston. The annual showcase of track and field excellence at the high school level offers a glimpse of Jamaica’s future international athletic stars.
APRIL
Two-wheel exploration with Cycle Jamaica
Cycle Jamaica is operated by the 37-year-old company, Holiday Services Ltd, a certified and licensed tour operator. On April 13th-17th, cyclists can attend with their non-cycling friends, families and partners. If you are an elite cyclist, be prepared to be challenged by the island's top champions and if you are a newbie or intermediate cyclist, know that the experience is made fun for everyone and there is always full-service support along the way. Rest stops are well planned to ensure everyone experiences the real Jamaica — you can rest at a local fruit stall and enjoy coconut water straight from the nut, the best rehydration ever or enjoy local roasted yams as you pedal through "Usain’s country"! If you can’t make this date, Cycle Jamaica returns again 9th-13th November.
Get your race face on at Jake’s Off-Road Triathlon
Jake’s Off-Road Triathlon is the longest running triathlon in the Western hemisphere and a major event in the small fishing community of Treasure Beach, St Elizabeth. Jake’s Off-road Triathlon event is hosted by the world-renowned hotel, Jake's, and attracts top off-road racers and enthusiasts from around the world. It features a 500-meter ocean swim, a 25K (13.7M) off-road biking and a 7K (4.3M) country run which will be taking place on 29th April 2023.
MAY
The best cycling vacation – Discover Jamaica by Bike
This 4-day ultimate tour starting on Thursday 4th May, takes you through 13 of the 14 parishes. Riders will start in Portland, and then ride to Ocho Rios, Falmouth, Montego Bay, South Coast and end in the capital city, Kingston. Participants can fully immerse themselves in the sights, scenes and sounds of everything Jamaican. Each day will allow breaks at various iconic refreshment stops such as popular fruit vendors, this way, the event highlights some of the hidden gems and the local way of life, all done on a bicycle.
Sprint to the finish line at Mobay City Run
The annual staging of this run will consist of a 5K run/walk and a 10K run. The aim of the Mobay City Run taking place on 10th May 2023, is to provide funding and scholarships to disadvantaged students from Western Jamaica to access tertiary education. In order to continue to engage the usual and new participants, the organisers are giving people worldwide the opportunity to participate virtually too.
OCTOBER
Get hooked at the Port Antonio International Marlin Tournament
This year marks the 60th year of the Port Antonio Marlin Tournament. The annual angling event will take place over three days from 18th - 21st October 2023. Last year over 40 boats registered with a total of 186 anglers, 20 of which were international participants. Registration for the event is now open here.
NOVEMBER
Witness a whole new ball game at Annie’s Revenge Golf Tournament
Jamaica’s largest international Pro-am, sponsored by Nike Golf, has quickly become one of golf’s most popular tournaments with teams consisting of players from the U.S, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. The field is open to teams consisting of a PGA or LPGA Golf Professional, Assistant Pro and three amateurs. This year the tournament takes place in Montego Bay from November 15th – 19th.
DECEMBER
Dance your way to the Reggae Marathon
This is Jamaica’s premier international marathon event in Negril. On 3rd December 2023, marathoners, sports enthusiasts and beginners will converge in Negril, Jamaica’s capital of casual. Participants are encouraged to run the 10k, half marathon or full marathon and log their times. With over 600 runners and walkers, this is one not to miss!
