When it comes to family days out, London is one of the best places in the UK. Packed full of things to do, places to eat and sights to see, London has it all. So, grab yourself some cheap train tickets to London for the weekend and treat your kids to a day they won’t forget.

Warner Bros. Studio Tour

Harry Potter is a phenomenon that continues to enchant children (and adults!) of all ages. If you are a family of Potterheads then you have to visit the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter.

This film franchise made Leavesden Studios its home for over a decade, and the cast and crew managed to save a large number of props, set pieces, costumes and more for your viewing pleasure. You will be able to wander through iconic sets such as the Great Hall, the Forbidden Forest and Diagon Alley whilst viewing cinematic history. This is a great day out for witches and wizards of all ages!

Paddington Bear Afternoon Tea Bus

Perhaps one of the most iconic British characters is Paddington Bear with his signature marmalade sandwich under his hat. Now, you and your little ones can enjoy a Paddington Bear afternoon tea onboard a classic red double-decker bus.

The bus will take you all around London, so you can enjoy sites such as Downing Street, Big Ben, and Piccadilly Circus whilst hearing about all of Paddington’s adventures! The tour starts at Trafalgar Square, which is only a 5-minute walk from Charing Cross station, and includes a delicious Paddington-themed afternoon tea menu.

London Zoo

London Zoo is the oldest scientific zoo in the world, and this is evident through their dedication to animal conservation and education. You can support their efforts by simply paying them a visit. It’s also very well located, as it’s only a 16-minute walk away from Camden tube station.

London Zoo is open every day of the year (apart from Christmas Day) so it is always a great option for an action-packed daytrip. Currently, it’s home to almost 700 different species and over 20,000 individual animals. From the tiniest of frogs to huge tigers and lions, animal lovers will marvel at the impressive zoological display.

Sealife London

If you find yourself at a loose end in the Southbank area, head to Sealife London. This huge aquarium is packed full of marine life from around the world. Near two tube stations and a host of other attractions, Sealife London is the perfect way to round off a busy day in a calmer fashion.

From penguins to crocodiles and turtles, there are tanks the entire way around the aquarium bursting with life. If you have babies or toddlers, the lights and movements of the fish are an incredible sensory experience that will leave them in awe.

For older kids, the interactive activities dotted around might be more their cup of tea. These activities are designed to educate children on the fascinating creatures, how to protect them, and how to save the planet!
